The Eagles won the toss and elected to bat and were struggling 6/68 after 21 overs before Mason Ashcroft and Phil Burge tried to get their side to a defendable total.
The seventh-wicket stand was eventually broken by Maguire (4/15), and he picked up the remaining three wickets to see the Eagles bowled out for 132.
Diggers looked to be in cruise control, with Dean Bennett (32) and Paresh Patil (56) putting on 69 for the first wicket before Bennett's wicket saw a wobble.
They lost 5/38 with Angus Boulton (3) and Josh Lanham (9), both departing with Maguire (2*) helping his side reach the target with 5.1 overs remaining.
In the other first grade clash, Hanwood was able to take a nail-biting win over Coro.
Brent Lawrence tried to get the Cougars off to a strong start at the top of the order with a 24-run stand with Jake Rand before Rand (10) fell while Lawrence (6) followed closely behind.
Mathew Axtil (12) was able to get a start in his first game with the Cougars but was unable to push on, while Thomas Camm (5) couldn't handle the bowling of Luke Docherty (4/23) as Coro were eventually bowled out for 119.
