Miss Mills has her eyes firmly focused on raising as much money as possible for her charity - the Leeton branch of Royal Far West.
This is an organisation which assists rural and remote children's developmental, mental and behavioural health so they can reach their full potential. It provides multidisciplinary health, education and disability services.
"The whole reason I am doing this is for Royal Far West ... my family has personal experience with this group and I think they just do a fantastic job," Miss Mills said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I'm excited to be taking part in the quest and I know I will gain so much from taking part, but I really just want to do as much as I can for my charity."
Miss Mills has only just graduated from high school in recent weeks after completing her Higher School Certificate exams at St Francis College.
As part of the quest she is being supported by her committee - the Whitton Malt House, where she is also working for the next year.
"It's a bit of a working gap year to see what I want to do after that ... I did have an electrical apprenticeship with JBS, but I decided to put that on hold for now ... I would definitely love to do something in the industrial industry," Miss Mills said.
Planning and hosting fundraising events in the lead up to the Easter SunRice Festival will make sure time goes fast.
So far, Miss Mills has had a gelato stall at Light Up Leeton, with raffles on the go.
Big events such as an auction gala evening and show and shine are also in the pipeline, as well as smaller events on Australia Day and a paint and sip afternoon at the Malt House all looking like going ahead.
"I wanted to take part in the quest to become more aware of the community and play a role in the community," Miss Mills said.
"I'm aware of our agricultural history, but I would like to be more involved.
"After the quest I plan to be part of the Leeton branch of Royal Far West."
