The Leeton Shire Men’s Shed and Leeton Community Op Shop have joined forces to ensure no one misses out on celebrating the annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in 2018.
The Men’s Shed has taken the lead on the idea, with a morning tea to be held at its Brobenah Road location on May 23 from 10am to noon. The op shop will hold an event at the same time at its Pine Avenue store.
“We wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to take part, so we thought choosing two locations might help with that,” shed chairman Ron Hutton said.
For just $5 residents can enjoy a delicious home-cooked treat, coffee and tea and the knowledge their donation will go towards the Cancer Council’s work.
“It’s all about working together as a community and ensuring we’re doing something to help others,” op shop store manager Jodie Ridge said.
