United’s women’s side had just two subs compared to their usual five on Sunday. They started off the game well, pushing Junee into their own half several times for shots on goal.
In the 15th minute, Junee turned the game around, playing a long ball past the United defensive line and slotting a ball in past the keeper to score.
With the game going back and forth, it wasn’t until late in the half that Junee put their foot down, scoring three quick goals making it 4-0 at half-time.

The second half started off rough with a dot shot against United called in the fifth minute for an accidental handball in the box which resulted in another goal for Junee.
This was quickly followed up by another two quick goals in the 20th and 25th minute taking the score to 7-0.
WOMEN’S LADDER
“There was another push from Courtney Smith, Catherine Gray and Eliza Armida saw them tear through the Junee defensive and take on the keeper,” Powter said.
“The slippery conditions made it difficult to strike the ball, unfortunately pushing it to the side of the netting.
“This was followed up by another push from Ellie Castle shortly after who launched a brilliant shot from outside of the box, unfortunately hitting the post and bouncing out.
“The girls played a really strong second half against Junee and should be proud of their efforts.”
