Ms O’Keefe is the new manager at the Leeton library and is keen to continue offering “more than just books” at the facility.
Already the library has many programs in place at aimed young children right through to adults and everyone in between.
Ms O’Keefe has worked in the library industry for many years across NSW and has even had a stint teaching English in South Korea.

Her thirst for learning is something she hopes to pass on to those who walk through the door at the library.
“I love that libraries are one of the last free, safe and accessible spaces in the community,” Ms O’Keefe said.
“They are a real hub for anyone to come in. They don’t have to feel pressured to buy a coffee or lunch or anything like that.
"It’s a welcoming space for everyone.”
Ms O’Keefe praised the library’s staff for their hard work to come up with unique ideas and projects to involve all community members.
She said there were several challenges facing libraries, but she believes the Leeton library will continue to thrive.
“I think it’s a challenge for us to remain relevant to our local community,” Ms O’Keefe said.
“Coming on board, it’s a matter of getting to know Leeton and what they want from our library.
“Hand-in-hand with that is keeping on top of what’s happening all over the world with libraries and being able to pinch ideas from them and adapt them here.”
