Leeton Shire Council currently has funds set aside from its budget, as well as the Office of Environment and Heritage to make sure all of the town’s art deco items are looking their best, particularly in the CBD area.
Council’s manager of building and planning Garry Stoll said readying the CBD precinct for the festival was a high priority, but time was running out.
“This local grant funding opportunity has been ear marked for buildings within the CBD area to ensure that visitors to the festival will … (have an) everlasting first impression of Leeton’s Art Deco architecture and history,” he said.
“A number of potential applicants that fit our current scope for funding have been identified and approached.”

A council sub-committee has been setup with full delegated authority to distribute the grants for the 2018/19 financial year only.
