"The original event was created by the Leeton Youth Committee, a committee of Leeton Shire Council.
"The Cameron brothers, who now run Totem Skateboarding, were part of the Youth Committee and have played a major role in getting the competition off the ground for many years.
"It is really a full circle seeing them come back each year and it's great to see how much they are bringing back to the community and how much today's young people appreciate their amazing skills.
"The day also shines light on 'Riggzie' a legendary young local skater who sadly passed away."
The championships are divided up into sections and, in 2019, there will be both senior and junior categories for BMX, scooter and skateboarding.
"This year two young up and coming skaters, Nixen Osborne and Sari Simpson, from Vans will be joining the fun demonstrating their incredible skills, so be sure to head down and take," Ms Collis said.
"The Salvation Army will also be on hand cooking up a storm.
"We are very excited to have them on board to support the event."
The jam-packed championships will also feature demonstrations from professional skaters, and prizes and giveaways for the widee range of events that cover all ages across each of the categories.
The Riverina Skate Championships will be held at the Leeton Skate Park on Easter Monday from 11am to 3pm.
