Leeton United will face Cootamundra this weekend in round two of the Football Wagga competition after defeating Tolland in round one. 

Alampi acknowledged it was good to get on the board in the first game, but said there were some holes in the side's game that needed fixing. 

He was particularly impressed with the team's first half, but after a drop in form in the second, he believes consistent play is what is needed from United going forward. 

"We need to be more consistent in our game this week," he said. 

"Ideally you want to be playing well for the whole 90 minutes, but in reality you probably aren't going to be able to control the game for the whole 90 minutes. 

"I think it's just about trying to play consistently and that's where results will come. 

"The boys know all of this.

"Even though we won last weekend, they were pretty quiet in the sheds afterwards. 

"I don't have to tell them their second half last week wasn't good."

Cootamundra weren't so lucky in their opening round clash after being handed a heavy 6-0 defeat at the hands of Wagga United. 

The Strikers will this weekend host United, with Alampi hopeful of picking up another win. 

"Cootamundra are always tough at home," he said. 

"I don't know a whole lot about them this season, but I do know they lost a few players. 

"I still think at home, they will be hard, so we need to be switched on."

United will be missing two key personnel in Sunday's clash, with Adam Raso unavailable due to work commitments, while Pablo Quarin is also unavailable. 

The loss of Raso will be a big out for Leeton after he scored both of the team's goals last weekend and was denied a third. 

"We knew Adam would likely miss some games because of work commitments, but he is a big out," Alampi said. 

"I thought he played very well last weekend."

A back-to-back win this weekend will be crucial for United, who will then enjoy a week off thanks to the Easter break.
