Earlier this month, the community gathered to enjoy the school's production of Matilda the Musical, a show which had been months in the planning.
Students gave their all not just on stage, but also behind-the-scenes with the making of sets, assisting with props, managing lighting and sound and more.

According to the school, the performances featured several outstanding cameo performances and each show brought many new highlights including:
- Dakota Smith's courageous portrayal of Matilda Wormwood, singing and dancing solo on stage.
- The stunning adaptation of Miss Honey by Sarah Wilson and her enchanting singing and tone throughout the performance.
- The brutish performance of Sharni Winter as the "fierce tyrannical monster" Miss Trunchbull, headmistress of Crunchem Hall Primary School, particularly the moment when she hurled a poor Sophie Male into the audience.
- Ryan Smith's portrayal of the "mean crooked crook" Mr Wormwood, and his hilarious banter.
- Chelsea Gordon and Annabelle Geltch's brilliant depictions of Mrs Wormwood through their busy gesticulations.
- Jessica Tonkin's wistful indulgence in Matilda's storytelling of the lively Mrs Phelps.
- Aslan Uzun's outstanding performance as Bruce Bogtrotter.
- Ebony Praestiin, carefully guiding the whole evening as both MC and narrator.
- Jonathan Davies playing it would appear to be half the cast, dancing tango in one scene, delivering a baby in another and playing a chef in another.
- The adorable Lily Curran as Lavender, cheekily sneaking a newt into a jug of water.
- Matilda's lively, spirited classmates portrayed by Toby Inglis, Sophie Male, Matilda Evans, Koby Irvin, Seth Hickey, Erica Messom and Tim Davies were also all unique and quirky in their own way.
"The students of the backstage and sound and lighting crew were professional in their approach to their roles and supported the on stage performers brilliantly," principal Paul Laing said.
"What a marvellous opportunity musicals offer to our students to demonstrate their varied talents and build their confidence."
