Rice Extension, in conjunction with AgriFutures Australia, launched the 2020 Rice Industry Awards at the Rice Industry Field Day, held in Yanco last week.
Following the success of the inaugural awards last year, the 2020 event is set to showcase the best in the business and highlight current and future irrigation and industry innovation.
Rice Extension co-ordinator Troy Mauger said the awards were a chance to tell the rice growers' own story and reward their hard work.

"The awards provide an opportunity to recognise and reward our growers, but also tell a good story about irrigation, innovation and promote our industry as a whole," he said.
"The awards provide a platform to share our grower journeys."
Nominations are now open for the 2020 SunRice Grower Of The Year Award, with the judges looking for excellence in the following areas: production and agronomy; water use efficiency; innovation and technology; business management; sustainability; work health and safety and industry and community involvement.
Rice Extension is encouraging an increase in nominations from agronomists for the 2020 Awards.
"We are inviting growers to self nominate, but would love to see a greater number of nominations come via agronomists to really highlight our dynamic industry and take these Awards to the next level," Mr Mauger said.
On farm judging will commence in June with the award winners being announced at the Ricegrowers' Association of Australia annual conference in August.
A SunRice Grower of the Year field day will also be held to showcase the award recipients' farming practices in December.
