After closely considering advice from the NSW and federal governments about the coronavirus, Leeton Shire Council has decided to cancel all group-style library programs and sessions until further notice.
This includes all storytime, baby rhyme time, lego club, brain games, tech savvy seniors, book club, and bridge club sessions.
Library manager Terry O'Keefe said the main reason for putting these programs on hold was generally cater for the most vulnerable sectors of the population, being the young and the elderly.

"Council is committed to ensuring we limit the spread of the virus and our library group-style programs are not conducive to ensuring the requisite social distancing that is being recommended," she said.
"For everyone else it is business as usual at the library and we look forward to welcoming customers."
Library opening hours are 10am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10am to 7pm Thursday and 9am to noon on Saturday.
Council will also continue to operate its home library service as usual.
Community groups who have booked the yellow room can continue to meet on site.
Membership is free at the library and, during the pandemic, can be arranged over the phone.
