Mr Power took on the role in 1992 and was instrumental in moving the dawn service from 4:30 to 6am.
"To me, the dawn service is Anzac Day," he said.
"The community taking on the initiative to stand on their driveways this year is fantastic.
"It's a very generous town, if anyone needs help everyone just rallies around them."
When The Irrigator asked Mr Power what his fondest memory of presidency was, the military veteran spoke proudly of the centenary dinner held late last year.
"Celebrating the RSL Sub-branch going on 100 years was a great night, and a great dinner," he said.
"You're always wiser in hindsight, but looking back I don't think I would change a thing."

Mr Power enlisted in the Australian Army during 1964, serving in Vietnam between 1966 and 1967, then in PNG for a further two years.
The decision to move to Leeton in 1987 served as a homecoming for the Wagga local, returning to the MIA after leading an incredible life overseas.
"My only regret is not getting more younger veterans into the RSL movement," Mr Power added.
"The camaraderie within the RSL is second to none for ex-service personnel, and it all happens after you put that uniform on."
The role of president has been filled by ex-navy serviceman Peter Williams.
