The Australian Bureau of Statistics has revealed its building approvals figures for the 2019-20 year, with Leeton's construction industry looking in good shape according to the data.
The total value of buildings approved in the 2019-20 year was $24.76 million, which is around $10 million more compared to the previous financial year when the numbers were closer to the $14 million mark.
This is despite 13 new homes being built in 2019-20 and 14 in the 2018-19 financial year period.
What has likely tipped the scale is the number of bigger projects getting underway in the most recent financial year, including the construction of large grandstand at the Leeton Showground, which has been a boost not just for the builders involved, but other local trades.
In the 2019-20 year there were also four "other residential buildings" constructed in the Leeton shire area, compared to none in the year prior.
The numbers reflect a positive period for the construction industry in Leeton, particularly during a global pandemic.
Helping the cause going into the next 12 months will also be the opening up of more land for homes to be built on in the area.

Construction of home is still continuing in the Isabella Place area, with a new area on Brobenah Road recently opening up for potential house and land packages.
For the Australian industry as a whole, construction work completed in the June quarter declined by 0.7 per cent, seasonally adjusted, to $50.1 billion, according to figures revealed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics this week.
While slightly down, economists had been predicting the industry would be weakened due to the pandemic.
