Kindergarten, year one and year two students have recently been learning all about Asia this term and this was a fun way to inject a part of Japanese culture into their studies.
Chef Matt Gatt from the Hungry Fox Bistro was invited to the class to teach students how to make the sushi - a traditional Japanese cuisine.
Students wore their very own chef hats for the lesson and were keen to add to their cooking repertoire.
"Students were shown the steps in how to make sushi as well as get taught a little bit about the history of (the dish), such as it taking four years to learn how to make the sticky rice just for the sushi," Wamoon principal Matt Collins said.
"This was a wonderful way to bring the culture of Japan into a small country classroom.
"Students were highly engaged and really enjoyed the experience."
