Leeton's Out of School Care program again provided parents of the shire an option during the break, giving their children a safe place to go while knowing they would be well looked after.
A host of activities was on offer throughout the two weeks.
Week one played out with spring craft, cooking a sport, a games day, movie and barbecue lunch, mixed sports at the Leeton Indoor Stadium and a big highlight for everyone - an excursion to the Altina Wildlife Park.
"It was the highlight of our year actually I'd say," Leeton Out of School Care co-ordinator Keira McCallum said.
"We've been trying to go for a couple of years now, so it was a very exciting day for all the kids.
"They loved it. Being spring, there were lots of new arrivals at Altina, which was very cute and a great experience for everyone."
The trip was made possible thanks to three years of saving funds, as well as some grant funding to assist in the excursion.
It was also the first time the group has been able to venture out of town since the January school holidays due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Week two of the school holidays at the centre included a wet weather picnic and games, watching Astro Kid at the Roxy Theatre, a science day and the break was wrapped up with an X Factor talent show on Friday.
"The science day is something all of the kids look forward too ... they do a lot of different experiments with that one," Miss McCallum said.
"We try to do things that not only interest the kids, but also tie in a bit of education as well.
"It can be difficult sometimes coming up with new activities, but we do try to plan in advance and be organised."
While Leeton Out of School Care runs every school holidays, there is also an After School Initiative that runs every week of each term, also from the grounds of Parkview Public School.
MORE NEWS:
Catering for primary school aged children this service provides education and care during after school hours from 3.10pm to 6pm on school days.
"We've had really good numbers during these school holidays, some days it's been a little down with kids being away sick, but we have to make sure everyone is healthy so we encourage them not to come if they are unwell," Miss McCallum said.
"I think word is out there about it.
"We do still have spaces available for After School Care. We make sure there's time for homework to be done, a healthy snack and physical activities."
