It is with that sentiment that Mrs Roden has taken on the role of president of the Leeton Business Chamber.
With a solid committee and executive team behind her, the year ahead is already looking promising for the business community.
The 2020 revamped Christmas promotion is already in full swing, with shoppers reaping the benefits of spending their money locally this festive season.
"I've been actively involved with the chamber for a little while now, the last four years I've helped out with the Christmas promotion and I'm driving the current one we are doing," Mrs Roden said.
"The goal for the next year is to get people thinking about getting out of their homes post-COVID and continuing shopping locally.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"This year in particular the community have really thrown their support behind our local businesses, so we're hoping that will continue.
"We're hoping to run with that momentum and do more of our shop local campaigns."
The big one for the chamber will be the return of the Leeton Business Awards in a face-to-face setting.
The awards were changed up in 2020 as part of ongoing restrictions, moving to an online format and recognising those who had pivoted to deal with the health and economic crisis thrown up by COVID-19.
"Hopefully we can have the awards 'back to normal' next year, we're basically planning and already looking ahead to that already," Mrs Roden said.
The chamber is also an outlet for businesses seeking help or information.
It is well connected with the NSW entity and hopes to continue to offer workshops and courses for members so they can continue to evolve and build their brands.
"We're lucky to have the business community that we do here ... everyone supports each other," Mrs Roden said.
"If businesses do want to chat about something, our door is always open." There's also several perks to becoming a chamber member.
