Around 7am on Sunday, December 13 Leeton police received reports that a 39-year-old man was seen walking along Darling Road at Wamoon with a firearm.
Officers attended the area in an attempt to track the man down in person.
When they weren't able to do so, they were able to make contact with him over the phone.
Police said the man voluntarily presented himself to police and denied being in possession of a firearm.
Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate a firearm.
However, the incident did lead to police conducting further checks on the man within their system and, as a result, he was arrested for breach of bail and breach of an apprehended violence order.
Business targeted
TWO thieves who are yet to be identified bit off more than they could chew at a Narrandera business late last week.
Between 1.20am and 1.30am on Friday, December 11, Eurells of Narrandera was allegedly broken into by two male offenders.
The men entered the yard to the business by cutting a hole in the eternal fence.
Police said the pair attempted to steal a bike, but were unable to push it through the hole in the fence.
They left the bike and the scene empty handed without stealing any further items.
However, police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or noticed anyone suspicious in this area at that time.
