AN UNKNOWN vehicle was seen leave the scene of a grass fire in between Whitton and Darlington Point over the weekend.

Two grass fires were spotted by a member of the community along the Whitton-Darlington Point Road just before midnight at 11.55pm on Friday, December 11.
The witness noticed the vehicle leaving the scene as they approached.
The person called emergency services, with the Rural Fire Service from both Whitton and Darlington Point attending to extinguish the grass fires.
About one hectare of grass was burned as a result.
Police are appealing to anyone in the community who may have seen, heard or noticed anything suspicious in this area at the time.

Minor injuries after Leeton accident
A 26-YEAR-OLD man escaped an accident with only minor injuries during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The man was driving a red Ford Falcon utility along Melaleuca Avenue about 1.40am on December 13 when he hit a street sign, causing the vehicle to spin and crash into a tree.
The driver suffered a laceration to the face and was taken to Wagga Base Hospital for treatment before being released later that morning.
Police are continuing their inquiries into the cause of the accident.
