In the Andrew Johns Cup, the visiting Rams were able to hit the scoreboard first with Connor Vardanega getting over after a knock-on at the play the ball from the Bulls, but the Riverina side hit back quickly when Noah Killeen broke the line and sprinted down the wing to score in the corner.
The Rams retook the lead only minutes later as despite the best efforts from the Riverina defence to hold up Western's Jaiden Powyer he found his way over the line to give his side the four-point advantage.
As halftime approached, the Bulls were able to force a repeat set and made the most out of it by spreading the ball to Isaac Hardman who got over in the corner and with a successful conversion from Jared McKinnon, the Riverina side led 12-10 at the break.
After a scrappy start to the second half from both teams the Rams were able to change the leaders once more as off the back of a scrum the visitors spread the ball out wide and Alexander Davies scored in the corner.
