While the Leeton Apex Club hasn't been operational since 2014 due to dwindling numbers, the organisation continues to have the preschool in mind.
Past members recently got together with current Leeton Preschool director Laura Lashbrook to donate their last remaining funds to the early learning facility.
The donation of $2500 will be used by the preschool towards a special project where a new sandpit is being constructed and the funds will help cover costs of a shade sail.
The long-running association between the two organisations dates back to the 1970s, with the Leeton Apex Club primarily responsible for raising money to construct the building where it is located today.
Prior to that it was located where the Leeton community centre currently stands in Wade Avenue.

However, at the time, that space was small and not suitable for the growing number of youngsters who were attending preschool in Leeton. Leeton Shire Council was also on board.
So, members of Apex set about fundraising, including raffling off a car.
Many long hours were put into the project, with members of the community also giving up their time during the construction process.
"It was something we identified the community as needing at the time," Apex Leeton life member Len Wade said.
"We had a lot of support from a lot of different people.
"It's wonderful to see the preschool is still going so strong in our community."
Over the years the organisation has also continued to donate money to the preschool whenever possible.
While the club has now disbanded, past president Christoper Senti was pleased the group had been able to do one last good deed for their friends at the preschool.
"We are proud to leave a legacy for the Leeton community for future generations," he said.
"Our club was proud to raise funds for the community for over 60 years.
"It has been a pleasure to donate our last funds to the Leeton Preschool. Every year we donated a generous amount. Our club (had) much satisfaction and pride in doing this annually for the Leeton Preschool and the strong community we live in today."
Mrs Lashbrook was honoured the club had thought of the preschool for one last time.
"It's very humbling for them to give us their last remaining money that they have raised ... we are so grateful," she said.
Apex Leeton also thanked the town's Westpac Bank branch for their assistance over the years and in getting the final donation together.
