It will be the first time the two sides have met since the 2020 Pascoe Cup grand final, so there will be plenty on the line for both sides when the first whistle blows.
For United, they will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing draw against Tumut and coach Frank Alampi is expecting a strong response from his side.
"The performance was there, and we didn't have too many boys on the bench because our squads were all mixed up, so we only had a couple of boys on the bench, which probably hurt us a little bit, but we still played well, but we just didn't take our chances," he said.
"They boys were disappointed to not come away with the win, but Tumut deserved it because they all put their body on the line, and for that fact alone, they deserved to get the point out of it."
Alampi feels the clash with Hanwood is always one his boys look forward to because of the test it will provide.
"They have always been a good club and have always been a good competitive, strong team, so the lads are looking forward to it," he said.

While the preparation has been less than ideal, with a large percentage of the side missing training on Tuesday night with the flu and other issues, the United coach is hopeful his side will be in good condition.
"There were a couple of boys with a bit of a cold and a couple with slight injuries, so we told them not to train," he said.
"There is no point training when you have some niggles with hamstrings it's just too risky. Out of the firsts and ressies squad, I think we told 10 not to train last night, so it's not ideal, but what can you do."
There will be one key component of the side missing on Sunday, with Alampi unsure if Adam Raso will be able to overcome the injury he sustained against Tumut but said it gives a fringe player to test themselves against the best in the competition.
"Raso doesn't like to miss Hanwood games, so it might be a minor miracle, but it didn't look good," he said.
"We will have to look at finding a replacement for him, which is going to be difficult, but we have a good squad, and someone will get the opportunity."
