They often say that the scoreboard only tells half the story, and that was certainly the case when the Dianas took on Wagga City on Saturday afternoon.

While the Leeton side fell to a 53-0 defeat at the hands of the fourth-placed City side, it was the determination and pride in the jersey that shone through.
Due to unavailability, the Dianas took to the field with just seven players compared to the Wagga side, who were playing with a squad of around 20, but the girls showed tremendous spirit to battle it out against the odds.
"On our behalf, it was actually an outstanding game," coach Stuart Stout said.
"With only seven players and no reserves compared to Wagga City, who probably had 20+ players I think and could continually move through. Our girls just didn't give up all day."
According to Stout, it was that effort that saw them win over the crowd on the day with everyone praising the way the Leeton side conducted themselves in a tough situation.
"When the Wagga City girls were shaking hands at the end, they couldn't believe the girls were able to do what they did," he said.
"All of the spectators were just in awe of the never give up attitude that they showed.
"One of the girls actually dislocated her shoulder and continued to play, so that sort of sums up the spirit that the whole team had."

This weekend will see the Dianas return home to take on Tumut and with Stout expecting them to want to use the space outwide.
"We are expecting that they will be wanting to get it out a little bit wider, whereas we will be more likely to keep it in the forwards," he said.
"They will probably look to take the forwards on and get quick ball to their backs."
The Women's game will kick off at 3pm on Saturday at Yanco Sportsground.
It was a tough weekend for the Phantoms third grade side.
It was going to be difficult taking on the top of the table City side, and it proved to be just that as they came away with a 41-7 win.
The third-grade side will have another week off this weekend before they head back to Wagga to take on CSU Reddies.
