United had been prepped and ready to go last weekend against Henwood Park, but after heavy rain during the week, all Football Wagga matches were postponed.
That means it has been almost two weeks since Leeton's last outing, which was against Cootamundra at MIA Sportsground.
It was a game the team won and they had been hoping for a solid hit out against Henwood Park, one of the top sides this season.
While that wasn't to be the case, United is now focused on the task at hand, which comes in the form of the ninth-placed Tolland Wolves on Sunday in Wagga.
With grounds still wet and the ever-present lurking presence of COVID restrictions, coach Frank Alampi remained positive the game would go ahead.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It should be all right to go this weekend, fingers crossed," he said.
"We've got a fair few boys out this weekend with injuries, we'll know more after training (on Thursday night), but we will definitely have at least five out I think.
"But at the end of the day, we will go over with the team we pick and play hard."
While Tolland are languishing at the bottom end of the table, Alampi will be reminding his troops to give the side respect on the day or risk being shown up.
"You always have to show your opposition respect, if you don't then that's where things can start going wrong," the coach said.
"We need to go in prepared and realise there is a job to do.
"At the end of the day, every game has three points on the line and you have to earn them."
It has been a stop-start season in recent weeks thanks to the long weekend and last week's washout, but Alampi said United had continued to prepare as normal.
"With a few injuries we have had smaller numbers at training because of that, but everyone who is training has really been putting in," he said.
"We had a good session on Tuesday night. Everyone is keen to get out and play."
Leeton United are currently fifth on the Pascoe Cup ladder, meaning every week and victory is crucial in order to cement a spot in the top four as the season continues to quickly move towards finals.
Following this week's trip to Wagga, United are scheduled to be back on their home turf on July 11 against Tumut.
This Sunday's game will be played at Kessler Park, kicking off at 3.20pm.
Spectators are welcome, but they will need to wear masks and check in on the day.
