Leeton were taking on the formidable CSU Reddies on the road and were able to come away with the 31-27 result.
Coach Stuart Stout explained the frantic final seconds, which had everyone on the edge of their seats.
"It showed they weren't going to give up ... they knew they were down by one after the Reddies scored with about a minute to go, so we still had the kick off from play," he said.
"The girls gave everything they, worked all the way up the field until we scored in the corner. The thing that really impressed me and the girls was that everyone had a hand in that last try. Every player touched the ball, so they were really happy."
Positional changes on the weekend appeared to work in the Dianas' favour, with Emily Wright moving into halfback, where she performed well.
This change allowed Stout to move Amanda Rourke into the forwards from halfback where she could pilfer the ball back and secure possession for the side.
"Just that little positional change made a difference for us on the day," Stout said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The Dianas have the bye this weekend, but Stout will be attempting to keep momentum going with training to stay the same.
"What this win shows the girls is if they commit and work hard at training and turn up on the day ready to play, they can achieve anything," he said.
"We'll keep working hard at training despite the bye."
