LEETON United's first grade women's side gelled well on the weekend to record an exciting victory 4-1 over Cootamundra.

Facing the Strikers on their home turf, Leeton United looked to be in trouble early when Cootamundra was the first to score.
However, Leeton soon composed themselves after a slow start, challenging themselves to get into the game.
United began to hold onto the ball more and their defence came together to not allow anymore goals through on the day.
Cootamundra took another chance in the first half that looked sure to find the back of the net, but Leeton's keeper did a stellar job in deflecting the shot.
Twenty minutes into the game, United's Charlie Lamont was open to header a ball into path of Breanna Twigg.

A pass was taken and resulted in Leeton being rewarded with their first goal of match, taking the score to 1-all for both sides.
Before the first half concluded, Cootamundra's number nine was penalised with a red card after United's Zoe Stasinopoulos was tackled from behind.
With Cootamundra now down a player entering the second half, the Leeton team was determined to use this to their advantage.
United's control of the ball and their effort in keeping possession worked well in their favour and, at the 50th minute, Leeton's Nyah Brown scored another goal slotting the ball across Cootamundra's goalkeeper, taking the score to 2-1.
Another Leeton player was pushed to the ground, which meant United was awarded with a penalty shot taken by Ellie Castle.
Castle took the score for Leeton up to 3-1 after executing her effortless goal.
Lani Watts secured the last goal of the match taking the score to 4-1 in Leeton's favour.
Players' player awards went went to Katie Burley and Melinda Broad, with Zoe Stasinopoulos and Broad picking up the referee points.
This weekend Leeton United are on the road to face the fifth-placed South Wagga. United are nipping at their heels on the ladder and will be hoping to claim a top five scalp and go back-to-back with consecutive wins.
