Football Wagga made the decision on Friday night to cancel all football under their banner due to the rain that fell during the week and with more expected over the weekend.
This decision meant that the full day of football at Mia Club Oval was unable to be played despite the pitch being in perfect condition for football on Sunday afternoon.
It has left Hanwood coach Brian Bertolin a little frustrated.
"I know Wagga has had a lot of rain, and it is a lot more than us, but just because it wet there doesn't mean every other ground in the region can't play," he said.
"I think Young was struggling. They had to move their kids to Forbes, but as far as I know, Cootamundra was fine, and Leeton was obviously fine.
"I spoke to some of the guys from Leeton yesterday, and they wanted to play just as much as us because it's always a big game, but to have the rug pulled out, I think everyone is a bit deflated."

The Hanwood coach feels that it might be time for Football Wagga to have a look at the decision making prospect to avoid having an instance such as this again and with more rain on the forecast for the coming weeks.
"The worry is if you look at the long term forecast, it's only going to get worse. I think the approach might need to be looked at," he said.
"They have to look at this holistically. They have their juniors to look after, and that's fair enough, so look at that and make a decision, then have a look at what is happening on Saturday and then look at Sunday.
"It's sort of three different decisions. I think the decision on Friday not to play the kids is fine but maybe make the decision on Saturday morning for the fourth and third grade by, say 10am and then look a the remaining games.
"If they are out of town, they should make the decisions themselves like ring Leeton and see what it looks like and, if it's good, get it going."
