The professional arborist, or tree surgeon, knows the future for a healthy world rests on healthy trees.
Through his work this is something he is hoping to achieve with the help of the Leeton community.
"I want my kids to be able to live in a healthy world and healthy trees are a huge part of that," Mr Patelesio said.
"We need to look after our environment."
Mr Patelesio is the owner of Hightree Patrol, a business that operates in Leeton and surrounding areas, specialises in tree care service.
He has been in the arboriculture industry for over 13 years, working in both New Zealand and Australia with experience in commercial and residential areas, even completing work at the Australian War Memorial.
"Arborists are trained professionals, for me, it's about taking care of trees, bringing them back to life ... the only time I will ever cut down a tree is if it really cannot be saved or the circumstance warrants it," Mr Patelesio said.
"It's so important people to come to us if they have any questions about anything to do with the trees in their yard or wherever.
"We can fix a lot of problems and still keep the tree alive. We can give advice before you even plant a tree. It's not just about digging a hole and putting a tree in there."
Luckily for Mr Patelesio and his staff members, Hightree Patrol is an essential business during lockdown, which is particularly crucial at this time of year during the spring months.
"Regular tree maintenance is a huge thing ... how we explain it is you'll go to a mechanic and get your car serviced - and it's the same for trees," Hightree Patrol owner Katie Conroy said.
"The benefits of having regular tree maintenance plays a huge part of the tree's function."
Hightree Patrol specialises in numerous areas, including tree removal, deadwooding, canopy lifting, trimming/pruning, shaping, confined space removal, weight reduction pruning, stump grinding, hedge trimming, implementing tree care maintenance programs, vegetation control and much more.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It's also about the history behind trees, " Mr Patelesio said.
"They have a story to tell. Trees provide so much for us.
"We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for trees. We wouldn't have that fresh air.
"That's one of the main reasons why I love looking after trees. They are our future."
