Xplore Radiology business manager Theresa Pham noticed an idea in Wagga doing the rounds where care packages were being made up for a special section of the community and it's now something being taken on here in Leeton.
Mrs Pham, together with the help of businesses such as The Hungry Fox, are putting together unique care packages for healthcare workers at the Leeton hospital.
During the month of September Mrs Pham is holding a hand cream drive on her Body Shop page, as a thank you to healthcare workers during these challenging times.
IN OTHER NEWS:
These care packages will be made up of hand creams, chocolates and a voucher from The Hungry Fox.
For every hand cream donated, Xplore Radiology will match one-for-one. The donations will be $8 each or 3 for $20.
The packages will be delivered to nurses, doctors, administration staff and the like at the hospital, but if plenty of donations are received some may also be given to aged care workers if numbers allow.
"I just wanted to do something positive," Mrs Pham said.
"There's a lot going on with the hospital at the moment, so we wanted to show our staff there that they are appreciated.
"We've had some great support from local businesses as well, which has been great.
"This is a little way we can say 'thank you'. We hope it brings a smile to their faces."
More information can be found on Xplore Radiology's Facebook page or at this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/533142377941705/.
The packages will be delivered in October. Already there have been 80 hand creams purchased for the care packages, which will be met by Xplore.
"Once we have final numbers, we'll see how far we can stretch the packages," Mrs Pham said.
