Abigail was named the 2021 dux of Parkview Public during the school's presentation event held before the end of term four.
Hosted in three separate events to comply with the Department Of Education's COVID protocols, students were acknowledged for excellence in scholastic, sporting, performing arts and leadership endeavours throughout 2021.
Principal Travis Irvin reflected on a challenging year that took the Parkview community on a rollercoaster of emotions, acknowledging the support of the broader community and dedicated staff in ensuring the learning and wellbeing of children at the school were continuously enhanced.
Significant awards were presented throughout the ceremonies, with the initiation of the Ezekiel Moore Memorial Award warmly received by the community, won in its inaugural year by George Lyons.
While Abigail received the highest academic honour, the school also recognised students in and out of the classroom.
The sportsperson of the year award was shared between year 5 students Xavier Chilko and Josephine Irvin.
Excellence in the performing arts was also acknowledged, with recipients of recognition including Xavier Sullivan and Jack Curry (instrumentalists of the year), Abigail picked up vocalist of the year and Abbey Holden excellence in dance.
The school also inducted its new leaders for 2022, with Xavier Chilko and Josephine Irvin inducted as school captains, while vice captains of the student body are Kaed Harvie and Arla Quigley.

Sportsperson of the award: Josephine Irvin and Xavier Chilko.
Junior sports award (Whymark family trophy): Jack Crowe.
Premier Sporting challenge medallist: Cruze Dale and Salvatore Alampi.
