Leeton Public School (LPS) have come out on top after a win against Gerringong in the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) State Cricket Competition.

Gerringong won the toss and sent Leeton into bat.
The opening bowlers for Gerringong bowled tightly and held our opening batters Tom Allen and Logan Mahalm to 9 after 5 overs.
Logan was dismissed for 5.
Blake McDonald came to the crease and started to accelerate the run rate.
He was ably assisted by Tom Allen at the other end. Blake played some masterful shots on his way to 41 retired.
Charlie Lamont came to the crease and she and Tom continued to amass a strong run total.

Tom retired at 41 before Jayden Broadbent joined Charlie and they continued to add to the score.
At the end of 25 overs the team total was 1 out for 137.
With Leeton up to bowl, a solid start from Gerrigone left them 2 for 41 at drinks.
Blake had one wicket and Luca Deaton threw in the ball for a run out.
Gerringong tried to accelerate their run rate. Flynn Anthony bowled his slower spin balls and had two batters caught in the field.
Leeton also effected three more runouts to have Gerringong at 8 for 78 after their 25 overs.
Leeton Public School will now travel to Maitland to compete in the state championships.
LPS Cricket Team Manager Jenny Tiffin thanked everyone for their support.
“The umpire on the day was John Warren, who kindly donated his services to officiate. Thank you John for your expertise and generosity in umpiring our game,” she said.
“We had great audience support from the many classes of students who gave up some of their valuable learning time to come down and support us.”
