Lauren Brett is in the final stages of planning her Tunes at the Track day out, which will be held on Saturday at the Leeton Jockey Club.
The idea is for the day to be Leeton’s version of a Day on the Green.
Headlining Tunes at the Track will be Warde Elliott and the Nortons and they will be joined by Blame Sally, Misspent Duo, Scruffy Monty, Alison Eddie, Vanessa Jennings and Tim Hislop and friends.
Proceeds on the day will go towards Miss Brett’s charity in Leeton Can Assist, as well as her Parkview Public School committee.
“I’m really looking forward to it, it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Miss Brett said.
“Hopefully we get a good crowd down here. It’s just going to be casual day out for everyone to enjoy.
“It would be great to see as many people here as possible. There’s some great bands that have signed on to play, so what more could you want?”
Miss Brett, a teacher at Parkview Public, spent her recent school holidays overseas, but since returning she has thrown herself into the quest.
Over the weekend she held a community outdoor movie night and also has other events such as a high tea coming up.
“I think between myself and the other ambassador entrants, there’s something on every weekend between now and Easter which is really great,” Miss Brett said.
“You always hear people saying ‘there’s nothing on’, but that’s definitely not the case over the next five or six weeks. Definitely get out and support what’s happening.”
Tunes at the Track will also include food stalls and the bar will be open.
Miss Brett said the support she had been shown so far during the quest had been overwhelming.
“I just can’t believe how generous our community is,” she said.
“Growing up here, I was aware of the generosity, but it’s just been amazing.

With Tunes at the Track just days away, now is the time to snap up tickets.
They are available from the Leeton Multipurpose Centre (opposite The Village) for $40 or at the gate on the day for $50.
“We’re hoping this event is something that appeals to a wide range of people,” Miss Brett said.
“There’s so many great bands and they will appeal to everyone.
“It’s going to be great.”
The event will be held on Saturday at the Leeton Jockey Club from 4pm to 9pm.
