The op shop recently received a grant for that amount from the Aussie Cotton Farmers Grow Communities grants program.
The program is delivered in partnership by the Monsanto Fund and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
With the op shop still working to make what will almost be like a soup kitchen, store manager Jodie Ridge said that is what the money will be used for, specifically the purchase of a stainless steel bench top.
“Without this funding we would not be able to complete this project,” she said.
“It’s a really big help for us.
“Once finished, this will be something people can come into the store and benefit from.”
Those in need will be offered one hot meal per day, as well as a cup of freshly-brewed coffee.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for this donation,” Mrs Ridge said.
Representatives from Monsanto recently toured the op shop and were impressed with the facility.

Monsanto Fund Representative in Australia, Jessica Douglas, said there had been many worthy nominations for the grants, which have been distributed across the country.
“It is important that the projects articulate long term benefits, in this way we can ensure that each individual grant has an enduring impact,” she said.
