However, despite starting well, the Crows were eventually downed by the Griffith Swans 60-47 at Leeton Showground.
All hope isn't lost just yet and the side will now have the weekend off thanks to the bye to regroup and refocus on the last two remaining games of the home and away season.
Senior co-coach Nicole Matthews said the team was disappointed with the loss on the week.
"We did beat Griffith last time we played them, so it was a bit disappointing," she said.
"A win definitely would have helped us get into that top five position, but that's how it went.
"It wasn't our best game and basically they just killed us all over the court."

Leeton-Whitton are currently seventh on the A grade ladder, with games against sixth-placed Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong and fourth-placed Coolamon remaining before the start of finals.
They will need to win both games if they are any chance of shooting into that fifth spot.
"It's still a possibilty (to make finals)," Matthews said.
"We need to win those two games and probably rely on some other results to go our way as well."
With the bye this weekend, where no points are awarded, the team will be looking to come together and work on their strategy ahead of the two must-win games.
"I would probably have preferred to keep playing, but perhaps some of the girls need the week off to refresh so it's good in that way," Matthews said.
"We'll be starting to prepare for those two games and go from there.
"That's all we can really do at the moment."
The Crows next game will be on August 17 against GGGM at Leeton Showground.
