Afsana Ahmadi, 19, received the accolade during a graduation ceremony last week, having only lived in Leeton for 10 months.
Ms Ahmadi moved to town from Kabul in Afghanistan, with her transition to "Aussie life" labelled as spectacular by her teachers and peers.
Along with her mother and four younger siblings, the family moved to Leeton to be reunited with their husband and father, who arrived in Australia as a refugee six years ago.
Ms Ahmadi, who's been studying through the Adult Migrant English Program, completed both a Certificate II and III in Spoken and Written English.
According to TAFE Leeton, she has shown true grit throughout her studies, not letting 4am starts in the laundry at JBS Riverina Beef get in the way of her learning.
Ms Ahmadi, who is aiming to go to university, completed her English language studies after work in the evening.
She was among 48 students to receive certificates at a glittering graduation ceremony at the Roxy Theatre.
A host of awards were presented to some of the highest performing students among the graduates, who all came from a diverse range of backgrounds and study areas.

TAFE NSW relieving regional general manager Jonathan Davis said the ceremony was a fitting recognition of the students' commitment to improving their skills and, ultimately, their lives.
"It's wonderful to see so many graduates investing in their futures by studying at TAFE NSW," Mr Davis said.
"For many of them, that involves making short-term personal sacrifices in the knowledge that they will gain the practical skills and work experience that they need tohelp them pursue their career. "To see those students up on stage being cheered on by their family, friends and classmates is very special.
"On behalf of TAFE NSW, I would like to acknowledge the personal achievement of all our graduates and wish them every success in future."
