Council will meet on Wednesday night for its monthly meeting, with an agenda that is decidedly smaller than what greeted us in June.
It should be noted that due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are limits on the number of people in the council chambers at any one time.
Residents and ratepayers wishing to address council need to organise this well in advance of the meeting.
The Irrigator will once again be attending the meeting, which gets underway from 7pm at the council chambers, but in meantime, here's a preview of what we can expect from tomorrow night's proceedings.
'Water the lifeblood of the MIA'
Leeton shire mayor Paul Maytom will be introducing a mayoral minute at the meeting regarding council's Water Policy Position Statement that was adopted in May last year.
Since that time, councillor Maytom has been involved in countless meetings, conferences and events discussing the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and its impacts.
As a result, he would now like to see council adopt an updated 10-point Water Policy Position Statement.
One of the points included in this proposed statement is council calling for a more strategic, integrated and transparent approach to water management by the federal and state governments.

Money, money, money
Council will tomorrow night be presented with a draft financial hardship policy and draft debt recovery policy.
These policies have been developed in consultation with key council staff who undertake the debt recovery and financial hardship processes on behalf of the organisation.
Staff have previously maintained a separate document for financial hardship, but have combined the two previous debt recovery policies into one to ensure all departments of council that deal with debt recovery are included.
Council says the policies have been put together based on state government guidelines and aim to reflect its commitment to "fair, equitable and compassionate treatment of ratepayers and customers, including those who are facing hardship" when recovering outstanding debts.
Should councillors agree to adopt the draft policies, they will be placed on public exhibition for the wider community to provide feedback and comment on.
Potential partial road closure
A request has been received by council to authorise the closure and sale of a section of Maher Road.
The area of road proposed to be sold to a private member of the community is about 41,025m2 and is a formed earth road maintained by council.
All of the farming land both north and south of Maher Road is owned by the member of the community who has put forward the proposal.
Council's engineering department has confirmed the road does not have any strategic value and council has no interest in the continued ownership, maintenance responsibility or legal liability for the road.

Council will therefore agree in principle to the closure of part of Maher Road and advertise the proposal to the public.
Should no objections be received, the sale and closure will go ahead.
The Irrigator will be live blogging from Wednesday's meeting to keep the community up-to-date with the news as it happens from the council chambers.
A link to this blog will be posted to The Irrigator's Facebook page and website prior to the start of the meeting.
