Come school holidays, I would be totally lost if it wasn't for my folks.
So, this month I am using my column as a thank you - not only to my amazing parents, but to all the parents, grandparents, neighbours, friends, extended family etc who help the working parents when needed.
Our town is lucky to have wonderful resources like Leeton Out of School Care, which I can't say I have tried yet, but have heard wonderful things.
Their co-ordinated activities certainly appear to book quickly.
But every time the holidays tick around, or we have a child who is unable to go to school for whatever reason, it is my parents who willingly put their hands up to help us out.
And not just my kids, but my sister's kids too.
MORE NEWS
Each time they do it they tell me "we love doing it" or "we love having them here".
While I try my hardest to cover as much of this time as I can, as a casual employee that is not always practical.
Hubby's work also means that some days he also cannot miss a day of work, so it is these times that we would really struggle if it weren't for my parents.
So, on behalf of all the working parents out there, I'd just like to say thank you to all of you that have ever stepped up to help us out.
Whether that be for just a few hours or a few weeks at a time, I don't think you really understand how much your help means to us all.
Thank you.
