SEVEN players from the Leeton-Whitton Junior Crows represented Riverina in the under 13 and under 14 state zone trials in Albury from September 22 to 25.
Those selected were Cooper Sharman, Nathan Tang, Sam Hopper and Ryan Dunn from the Crows' under 13s premiership-winning team, and from the under 15s Jake Wood, Tyh Evans and Jamieson Booth.
Crows' under 13s coach Matt Sharman was an assistant coach for under 14s Riverina team.
Each age division had seven teams competing from across NSW and the boys played six 40-minute games over the four days.
In between games, the squads underwent training sessions, game reviews and team bonding. The level of play was at a high standard.
The under 13s Riverina team won five out of six games only losing to Sydney West. It had wins over Sydney South, Sydney North, Murray, North Coast and ACT.
The under 14s Riverina team won half of its six games with wins against Sydney West, Sydney North and North Coast, and losses to Sydney South, Murray and ACT.

The talent program can lead to further progression, with the Crows player Jacob Hopper's selection in the AIS squad one of the highlights for the Leeton-Whitton club.
Having watched some of brother Sam's games at the zone trials, Hopper then went to Melbourne for his first session with the AIS at the end of the week.
