The Ferrets were able to make a strong start at the top of the order after winning the toss and electing to bat with Harrison Steele and Tyler O'Connell put on 28 for the first wicket before Steele (8) was dismissed by Narrandera skipper Brodie Perram.
Ashley Frazer joined O'Connell out in the middle and kept the L&D side moving forward with a 45-run stand before O'Connell (23) was run out by Jack Rilen.
With the score on 2/73 after 16 overs, Ferrets skipper Mathew Axtill joined Frazer out in the middle, and the pair worked hard to lift their side into a strong position on the scoreboard.
Over the next 10 overs, the pair were able to put on 59 runs for the third wicket before Frazer (67) was trapped in front by Narrandera spinner Brent Lawrence (1/36), but Noah Maybon and Axtil continued to push their side forward.
The fourth wicket pairing were able to lift their side towards the 200-mark but fell just short when Jordan Camm picked up the wicket of Axtill (67) to see the Ferrets sitting on 4/191 with four overs left in their innings.
The Carpheads were able to gain some confidence late with Camm (3/25) adding Maybon (13) and Sam Alampi (0) to his wickets column while Jack Sergeant (3/9) claimed the wickets of Blake McDonald (3), Dylan McKellar (0) and Dylan Browne (0) to see the Ferrets bowled out for 198 in the 39th over.
The Narrandera side was going to need to make a strong start if they were to have any chance of chasing down the mammoth target but the wicket of Lawrence (0) to the first ball of their innings when he was trapped in front by McDonald.
The innings really wasn't able to recover from there, in fact, it got even harder in the second over when Maybon was able to claim the wicket of Connor Vearing (2) to see Narrandra sitting on 2/5 after the first 12 deliveries.
James Sullivan and Tom Butterfield were given the tough task of trying to rebuild their side's innings and were able to get the Carpheads to double digits before Sullivan (8) was the next to depart when he was caught behind off the bowling of Blake McDonald.
That was the last of the major resistance from the Narrandera side as McDonald (3/10) picked up his third wicket when he knocked over Camm (0) while Maybon (2/9) picked up the wicket of Rilen (0).
Alampi (1/0) and Axtill (1/1) finished with a wicket each as well as the Carpheads were bowled out for 25 inside 11 overs to see the Ferrets move to first.
