After the Ferrets won the toss and elected to bat, the father-son combination of Mathew and Adrian Axtill got their side off to a great start.
After a slow beginning with 27 runs off the first 10 overs, they were able to put their foot down after seeing off the Yanco opening bowlers and lifted their side to 83 before Jason Burke made the breakthrough his side needed with the wicket of Adrian Axtill (28).
Blake McDonald joined his skipper out in the middle and kept the runs ticking over and pushing their side past the 100-mark.
Mathew Axtill (53) posted his half-century before he was caught by Angus Boulton off the bowling of Abid Hussain (1/19) while McDonald (11) was run out soon after to see the Ferrets sitting on 3/126 after 26 overs.
Ash Fraser (20) kept the runs ticking over before Josh Lanham picked up Fraser, Peter Lashbrook (2) and MacLean Crompton (7) but the Ferrets were still sitting in a strong position.
Jamie O'Connell (26) and Kai Schmetzer (22*) added some late runs to see the L&D side set a formidable total of 8/227 off their 40 overs.
The Stags were going to need to make a strong start if they were to have any chance of picking up the points with Boulton and Anthony Mandaglio at the top of the order.
Sam Alampi was able to make an early breakthrough with the ball with the wicket of Mandaglio (5).
The rest of the top order was able to make a start with Boulton (14) and Jason Burke (29) falling without going on with it while Crompton (1/20) knocked over Hussain (1) before he could make an impact.
Seth Shirdon and Andrew Kouzan (22*) tried to give their side a chance, however, when Shirdon (17) was trapped in front by Mathew Axtill (1/9) it spelled the beginning of the end.
Zachary Manwaring (0) was run out, Josh Lanham (2) was trapped in front by Fraser (2/18) while Blake McDonald (2/16) was able to knock over Sam Darley (0).
Alampi (4/19) wrapped up the victory with the wickets of Garry Aylett (0) and Mohammad Ahmed (0) to see the Stags bowled out for 99.
