Each year the small community holds its own service to reflect upon the sacrifices made by men and women on behalf of all Australians during times of war and conflict.
It's a tradition that is a long-running one with last year the first time the short service hasn't gone ahead.
However, 2021 has continued to bring a new dawn and it was no different for the Yanco Anzac Day service, which was attended on Sunday morning.
Led as always by Jim Morrison, the service was well attended by residents, as well as veterans, descendants and school students from both Yanco Public School and Yanco Agricultural High School.
The salute was read followed by reciting the names of Yanco's fallen. Wreaths were laid and a minute silence was held following the sounding of The Last Post.
Mr Morrison read the prologue before members of the community were free to share their Anzac Day memories and experiences with each other.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Many then headed down to the Yanco All-Servicemen's Club where a lunch was held, followed by games of Two-Up, allowing for the perfect Anzac Day afternoon.
With school returning in time for Anzac Day in 2021, several in the shire also held their own services during the week to ensure no students were left out of commemorations.
The importance of the day is something that continues to be taught in schools throughout Leeton shire and Australia to ensure the memory and spirit of the Anzacs lives on in the years to come.
