The Hawks have struggled so far in season 2021 and are currently sitting at seventh on the first grade ladder.
This weekend they return home to Yanco Sportsground to take on the fourth-placed Darlington Point-Coleambally Roosters.
"I think we have mostly pulled up alright from last weekend (against the Greens), just the usual bumps and bruises," first grade co-coach Troy Preston said.
"We need to work on our defence. That's the big one at the bottom.
"Holding onto the ball as well.
"We don't want to turn over the ball and just need to do those little things and the basics right.

With the Hawks desperate to get back onto the winner's list, Preston was hopeful his side would kick into first gear on Saturday afternoon.
Yanco-Wamoon has enjoyed several Saturday fixtures so far this season, something Preston said the club was enjoying.
With the Roosters ready to spoil the fun on the Hawks' home turf, Preston wants his side to go out and leave nothing in the tank.
"I think we have the ability to win and to play well ... we just need to start playing a bit better as a team and being more consistent for the whole game," the co-coach said.
"It would be really good if we could get the win this weekend."
