Yanco Public School’s Little Learners initiative has been back up and running for a fortnight and the young attendees haven’t looked back despite recent hardship.
A fire broke out in the building which was used by the Little Learners during the school holidays. While it was completely destroyed, along with everything inside, there was never any doubt the program would go ahead in 2018, according to principal Tarnya Grigg.

“We have a few new faces joining us this year, which is fantastic,” she said.
“The children are really enjoying the activities and the kindergarten to year 6 students enjoy playing with their younger siblings and friends at recess.
“The Little Learners students will enjoy playing with a huge range of games, dolls, construction activities, percussion instruments and art and craft.”
Little Learners runs every Friday morning from 9.30am until noon.
Gina Haines and Kay Strachan plan the activities for the children ahead of each session.
A thank you barbecue for the wider community was also recently held to recognise the generous contributions residents have made to ensure the program continued this year.
