Mrs Kaur, a student nurse, has been at the hospital this week as part of her studies and work placement.
She will continue on for the next two weeks.
Mrs Kaur currently works as an assistant in nursing at Scalabrini Village in Griffith while also completing her Bachelor of Nursing via distance education.
Originally from India, Mrs Kaur migrated to Australia in 2009.
She is also a mother of two children, juggling her work and studies with her family life.
“I always wanted to be a nurse from a young age … I just knew it was what I wanted to do,” Mrs Kaur said.
“I finished my year 12 in medical in line in India and studied my Certificate III in Health Services through TAFE NSW.
“I’m very much enjoying my time at the hospital here in Leeton.”
Mrs Kaur said her love of nursing came from wanting to help people.
“I like seeing people get better and the smiles on their face,” she said.
“I am very satisfied with my job and it makes me feel proud.”
Mrs Kaur said so far her time at the Leeton District Hospital was proving to be the perfect place to learn.

“Everyone has been very helpful in showing me around, but also taking me through things step-by-step,” she said.
“I can see it is a very good team here.
“Everyone wants to help me learn and it’s very nice of them.”
On completion of her studies, Mrs Kaur wants to continue on as a registered nurse in Griffith where she lives. Nursing is also something she hopes more young people consider taking up as a career.
“I would like to encourage to all young people to (take up) a nursing career,” she said.“It is the best opportunity to make peoples’ lives better.”
