With that in mind, Yanco Public School decided recently to put words into action holding a “thank you community barbecue” following on from the classroom fire earlier this year.
Following the fire, which destroyed the classroom that was used for the Little Learners program and music lessons, the community got together to help.

Donations of equipment to ensure Little Learners could get back up and running, as well as musical items were all given to the school.
The Yanco Lions Club donated proceeds from its annual Australia Day breakfast to the school.
The community barbecue was attended by students, staff, their family and those who helped out in the aftermath of the blaze.
